Quick Notes
Back in Cambridge, and enjoying myself. Steph's done with Law School exams, so we can both relax (her more than me, but that's fair because she was more tense than I to begin with). Editing my novel about Genghis Khan, and working on another - I just put together the first ten pages as sort of a proof of concept, and it felt great. Faster than my usual work, but it's always good to try new things. Also it's a foray back into Fantasy/SF, which I haven't done long form in a while.
For some reason I think of myself as a fantasy and/or science fiction writer mostly, but I've written four books now, and only one of them is really a fantasy. Sente was a mystery with speculative elements, Raise My Head And Watch The Moon tries to be a literary kung-fu novel, and Khan! is historical fiction/archaeological adventure. If I had to pick a genre, I'd say "adventure," but that doesn't so much get you shelved neatly at the book store.
Thoughts?
On a completely different note, you owe it to yourself to watch the following vid. I've got some healthy skepticism about the project, but well, the first minute-and-a-half.... eh, just watch it. I can't gush enough.

In other news, they posted the Writers of the Future finalists online a few weeks back; I know I've already glowed to you all about them, but I'm super excited regardless:

I just got a call from the Writers of the Future people, and they say they'll know in a week or so! Super excited, also very scared/nervous. Fingers crossed!
Peace!
